It does not happen often, but when it happens you remember it: You spent 20 minutes composing a message and you are about to send the e-mail. Something distracts you, the browser gets buried below other windows, and by the time you get to it again the session has timed out, and the message is lost.

Many of you have asked if it is possible to fix this. Well, I am happy to say that starting today the e-mail system automatically saves your work every few seconds. If something happens and your session times out, or your computer crashes, or your interent connection gets lost no worries. Next time you open the “send e-mail” form you will find your text exactly where you left it.

As a side effect, the system automatically remembers” the last e-mail you typed and will bring it up next time you open the e-mail editor. A new “Clear” button has been added at the bottom of form. Press it and the saved contents go away and you can start typing a brand new e-mail message.
